I only briefly knew my grandfather. He died when I was about 8, which, as you can imagine, I can’t remember too much of before then. He was a motoring journalist and stoked my interest in cars. His brother was an artist who in World War 2 painted some of the classic propganda posters of the era. After the war he turned to painting cars, mostly racing cars, but also some fairly ordinary scenes of the period. He had a great style i think – quite technical, but with some artistic vision as well.
I’ve recently started looking at collecting images of all his work. Thought I’d share a couple each day;
